Scrapping For Less Proudly Introduces "My Favorite Things"

Have you ever wanted something so very bad that you could taste it? Well, that is how I was with wanting to carry My Favorite Things products on the Scrapping for Less website. I am so extremely excited to announce that we are focusing on "MFT" products for the month of April! This is a fabulous company and one that is very near and dear to my heart! (In more ways than one! I live in FL and have been to their store). So, join me along with the DT in providing some inspiration for this wonderful company with a wide variety of projects!

Go Take a Look and Get Your Own Newton's Nook!!!

https://www.scrappingforless.com/…/c1/Featured_Products.html

Welcome to Newton's Nook: Holiday Release @Scrapping for Less!

I am so excited to announce that ScrappingForLess.com is now carrying Newton's Nook!!! If you are new to Newton he is an adorable cat that has been the inspiration for some of the stamps over at Newton's Nook Designs. I love their stamps! They are high quality, fun to color and even more fun to create with.

The stamp set that I am working with is "Holiday Hounds" which is full of wonderful dachshunds! I don't have a wiener dog myself but I sure do love them. They are so very adorable and I do have several friends that have doxies in their lives. Which in my mind makes this stamp even more perfect for making Christmas cards and tags with these cute little critters.

So here is what I did with these little doxies:

By clicking here you can grab your own set!

When the website opened we had a grand opening and one of the questions that Teresa (the owner of Scrapping For Less) asked everyone is "What other companies would you like to see on the website that I currently don't carry?"

Here is the beautiful and exciting part...Newton's Nook was one of the companies mentioned to her in answer to that question and now within a month of the website opening Newton's Nook is being added! It is so exciting to see something come into existence especially because a company LISTENED to the feedback of its customers! It is this type of customer service, the willingness to find out what her customers want to see and then to go out and make it happen for them that makes me so proud to be a part of Scrapping For Less FaceBook Group and now ScrappingForLess.com!

Leave a comment on each blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for a product goodie! Also, since this release focuses on the holidays all of the Newton Nook offerings are from their holiday line up. So go take a look at this wonderful stamping company and see if you are able to look through the stamps and not find one that you just have to have, (for me I won't be able to stop at just one)!   ;)

Your next stop in this blog hop is
Stacy Tiedemann

Here is the Line Up For the Blog Hop (so you make sure you got everyone to get entered for the drawing!)

Getting My Cards Up on FaceBook

Hello Everybody!

Ever find yourself intending to do something and you keep telling yourself that you will do it soon and then soon becomes later, later and later. That is the predicament I have found myself in recently. I tend to make more cards than I send and my stash keeps growing and growing. I have been meaning to put my cards on my FaceBook page for quite some time and I finally took the time to do it!

Here are a couple of the cards that I am adding to my FaceBook Page:

If you or anyone you know is looking for a card come take a look, you may find a card you are looking for or you may find inspiration, either way you are welcome to stop by! :)

Wishing you sunshine and smiles,
Kim :)

Extending Easter 2016

Happy Belated Easter!

I hope you spent the day exactly where you wanted to be. Whether it was at church, at an Easter egg hunt, at a family dinner or all of the above, wherever you spent it I hope it was where you wanted to be! I had big plans for Easter cards this year, I wanted to do a series and make several cards using several stamps that I haven't gotten to use (I bought a few of them over two years ago!) but alas that was not to be. I promise all I did was go outside and hose down our front porch because we had company coming over and it hadn't been done since before last summer. I started sneezing that afternoon and two days after although I never ran a fever or anything I felt poopy!

Turns out that here in Florida we have an excess of pollen, our car even seems to keep a dusting of yellow on it and I am figuring that was the culprit. It was weird because I felt bad enough to not want to do anything but good enough that not doing anything was driving me crazy! I did end up making a couple of Easter cards finally, one of them using my Silhouette Cameo but I forgot to take a picture of that one and it would figure that one was the only one I mailed.

I do have one to share with you though, this image is so sweet and it reminds me of when I was little and participated in egg hunts. The stamp itself is from Stampendous and the image created by Mo Manning, she has an incredible talent for drawing people especially children.

Supplies:
  • background paper is from my stash
  • image from Stampendous
  • washi tape from Echo Park (sorry can't remember the name)
  • colored with Copic markers
  • added a little shimmer with clear Wink of Stella pen
  • covered shoes with Glossy Accents
  • sentiment is a clear stamp from my stash
  • colored the eggs with Smooch accent ink

I hope you enjoy this card. Thank you for stopping by and please come back soon!

Wishing you sunshine and smiles,
Kim :)

Whew!

I have been packing for two days (a little longer than that because I began packing things we don't use regularly but wanted to take home about a month ago)! I am super excited because we leave tomorrow to travel to Spain for a week for a one last holiday before returning to life back home.

As I just posted on Monday one of my goals this year is to blog consistently and I intend to achieve that goal. I had intended to begin my Valentine's Day card series but my dates are going to be a bit different than I had intended because of the move and the upcoming holiday. So instead I plan to change the content of what will be on the blog until I get back home.

So many bags for just two people! (We brought WAY too much!)

So there will be pictures of Spain coming your way! We have a lot of fun adventures planned for the next week and a couple of chill days to truly relax. I am hoping to get a massage at some point. For some reason whenever we move (even when it's a move I want to make) it tends to be stressful and my shoulders get super tight!!! So I am looking forward to a massage to work all that out.

I wanted to bring so many of the clothes that I have needed while in Dublin home to Florida. I got honest with myself as I packed and packed and packed and then realized I had not yet packed any clothes! So then I took a closer look at the things I wanted to bring back and if I didn't love it then it didn't get packed. Some of the things that I really do like didn't get packed because let's face it I live in Florida and there is just no reason for me to bring back a bunch of things I would only get to wear maybe once a year.

This little crew is getting left behind as well :(  So sad but I probably would not have been able to use them as door stops at home anyway because our dog Cookie would think they were her new buddies and I would probably find them in her crate! Ha ha!

I would still love to be able to pack the duvet in our guest room and Jamie is still going to help me see if we can purge a little more so we can get it in but I'm not holding my breath. Good thing I wasn't holding my breath I would have come to on the floor! There's just no room for it boo!

I love this duvet the flowers make me so happy!

Even though I will not be featuring my Valentine's Day series until Wednesday January 20th I don't want to leave you without some inspiration so I am going to send you over to one of my favorite gal pals Teresa so you can see what she's been up to! Head over to freshandrenewed.blogspot.com for some inspiration!

Hello 2016!!!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great and safe New Year's Eve we stayed in and relaxed with family that came in to visit us for a little while. It was a lovely evening and around midnight people started setting off fireworks. We had a great view from our 7th floor window!

So now a new year has begun and for me that means it's time to set goals and decide what I want to strive for this year. I have decided that since life isn't segmented and separated into categories I would put all of my goals in one place (and bonus I will have a place to come back to and see how I am progressing)!

GOALS FOR 2016:

Meet step goal 5 days a week
Keep track of food & calories
Do something active each weekend
Blog consistently M,W,F
Be consistent with skin care routine
Learn how to make intros for videos with iMovie & Windows moviemaker
Learn how to edit videos & add music
Read more
Make card videos
Stop playing phone games to fall asleep
See & visit more places in FL
Stick to card making schedule
Put up extra cards on Face Book

Wow that seems like a lot but I think it's all doable there are quite a few small tasks on my list.

So what are your goals for this year? Have you ever set goals before and if so did you meet them by the end of the year?

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to spending the next year with you all!

Sunshine and smiles,
Kim. 😀

Hello Again World!

Hello Everybody!!!

I haven't been in hiding! I have however been smack dab in the middle of living out a dream I didn't even know I had! My love received news that his company was closing the Orlando office and he was invited to come out to Ireland for a six month stint to work with the home office which is based in Dublin. So that is where we have been since mid July.

It has been incredible! Oddly I have not had near the amount of free time that we thought I would have between getting our apartment set up (there have been numerous maintenance issues-blech!) and doing the everyday stuff that has to be done for living. You know-groceries, cleaning, cooking, laundry etc. Laundry is a bit different here because I don't have a dryer as it is more common to hang your clothes on a clothes horse for them to dry. Most of the time that is just fine but there are some super windy days here in Dublin and I have had to find a way to anchor my clothes horse so it would stop falling over!

After being here in Dublin for several months our adventures have begun to wind down and be more spread apart and we are down to only having two more scheduled visits from those we love so I am now finding myself with that free time that we thought I would have from the beginning. (I am glad I have been so busy because if not I may have felt lonely which would have tainted this experience.)

All this to say....I MADE SOME CARDS PEOPLE!!! It's the little victories in life that make me happy! ;)   I am going to just include pictures of the cards I have made they are a mix of birthday, Christmas, fall etc. Going forward there may be more info on either the making of the cards or possibly if I am entering the card in a challenge then I will be highlighting the challenge and the blog that it's for.

I have mentioned before that this is a crafty journal of sorts for me because I make these things and I want to share them. So I am writing this blog to those invisible individuals who may read this and take a look or it may never be seen and that's OK. I am an only child and have a self issued Master's Degree in make believe. So until all of you unsuspecting readers of my ramblings find this little blog of mine I am going to write to you and picture you in my head and imagine that you are comfy and enjoying the best cup of coffee or tea or whatever beverage you may enjoy the most. ( I am also a little jealous because I am pretty sure you're eating something delicious and I LOVE food!)  Oh and everyone is having a perfect hair day! ;)

Wishing you sunshine and smiles,
Kim  :)

Halloween Card #2 AND #3

Holy Cow!!! It’s already October 10th! I CANNOT believe this month is going so fast, I swear I felt like yesterday was the first of the month and I had all kinds of time to put up my Halloween cards (ha! Not so much).

So here we go a double feature if you will so that I can get caught up. I still have more Halloween cards I want to make! (Gasp!) I am still buying Halloween stuff to make cards for 2014!

Don’t be alarmed I am not actually as panicked as this post may sound (it’s just for dramatic effect, I do realize this isn’t an ACTUAL problem).
So on to the fun part: the cards!

These were fun to make, fun to color just fun, fun, fun! (Let’s face it if it was like work, work, work you wouldn’t be reading this.)  :)

Wishing you sunshine and smiles,
Kim
