Halloween Card #2 AND #3

Holy Cow!!! It’s already October 10th! I CANNOT believe this month is going so fast, I swear I felt like yesterday was the first of the month and I had all kinds of time to put up my Halloween cards (ha! Not so much).

So here we go a double feature if you will so that I can get caught up. I still have more Halloween cards I want to make! (Gasp!) I am still buying Halloween stuff to make cards for 2014!

Don’t be alarmed I am not actually as panicked as this post may sound (it’s just for dramatic effect, I do realize this isn’t an ACTUAL problem).
So on to the fun part: the cards!

These were fun to make, fun to color just fun, fun, fun! (Let’s face it if it was like work, work, work you wouldn’t be reading this.)  :)

Scrapping For Less Haul October 2014

As I am sure you have guessed by the title I’ve been shoppin! Every time I get an order in I feel like it’s Christmas (the Christmas from when I was a little kid, not the budgeted Christmas of a grownup, ha ha!)
So the filming and creating and publishing of this little 11 minute video (I swear I wasn’t chit chatting a bunch…I think…well maybe) turned into quite an adventure! I don’t know how you all do things out there but I tend to just think “I’m a smart girl I can figure it out!” (Confident and bright eyed!) Then the next thing I know what I thought would take half an hour tops has turned into four hours and I am thinking “er, well, I’m kind of a smart girl, right?” (How quickly my early confidence abandoned me!)

So I persevered because haul videos are FUN and someone out there is looking for this video (they just don’t know it yet!)!

So here we are again another "learn as I go" project that will get better over time (like I learned that you can’t crop videos like you can a picture so I will have to find a way to get my blue lidded boxes that are acting as my tripod out of sight)!

Here it is! Dat dah dat dah!

I hope you get a chance to check out the video and that you enjoy it and maybe identify with parts, like not needing any more paper but yet not being able to resist getting more paper either (nods, smiles and winks). You know who are!

So what type of things do y’all jump into head first without really knowing what you’re doing? I soo want to know I have fellow “throw caution to the winders” like me out there!

Wishing you sunshine and smiles,
Kim

Halloween Card #1

I LOVE Halloween! I love the colors, the costumes, the makeup and the candy. That being said I don't do gory or gruesome. I like cute! Cute, cute, cute! We don't get trick or treaters in my neighborhood and haven't for years (which is probably for the best since we would eat a good portion of the candy that we had meant to give out).

Here's a bit of the conundrum that I am in...I really enjoy making Halloween cards but I don't send Halloween cards to anyone. I know, what a problem right? Well some might decide that since I don't send Halloween cards to anyone then there's no reason to make them and they would certainly have a good point. Not me though! I refuse to be deterred, I so enjoy making them and I so enjoy the adorable stamps and embellies that are out there to be used that I have decided to make them anyway!

I have so many cards that I want to make and so many different techniques that I want to try that I will have more than I will need for my own family and friends so I have decided to put the extras up on Etsy, hopefully my cards will find a home.

I am so excited about Halloween that I have already started making cards! So here is the first one to kick it off!

This little guy, Darling Dragon Luka, is a stamp from La La Land Crafts (have I mentioned I LOVE dragons, oh and La La Land Crafts?) I colored the image using Letraset Promarkers and used Wink of Stella on the dragon's tummy, horns and pads of his feet.

I really like the look of cards that have a finished inside I first saw Amy Rysavy on Prairie Paper and Ink finish the inside of her card and I was smitten! I think it's such a nice touch. I do have a few cards that I haven't finished the inside but when I can I certainly prefer to.

I cut the spooky house with my Slice machine and used one of the dies out of Blueprints 19 from My Favorite Things, it cuts this perfectly wonky little shape out and fits just right on a card. I also used a banner die for the inside sentiment. For the outside sentiment I just eyeballed it and cut the fishtail flag by hand with scissors (always a trial and error).

The polka dotted paper came out of my stash but I am pretty sure it is Doodlebug Design paper. Now THAT'S a paper company that's got some cute paper!!!

Thanks for stopping by, gotta go color something else that's too cute to spook!  :)

My Crafty Story

I currently live in Florida with my husband Jamie and our sweet dog Cookie.

I have been crafting since I was a kid. I was fascinated with art class and loved trying the different mediums and making new stuff and my parents acted like it was amazing and thus a crafter was born! I have tried everything from crocheting, knitting, quilting, scrapbooking, stamping and cardmaking.

When I stumbled upon stamped images that could be colored my brain was like "OH YEAH!" and card making has become my passion! I have been making cards for family and friends for the last several years and have decided to share them via the blogosphere.

I still scrapbook some of my pics and I still crochet but my PASSION is coloring images and making cards. It makes me happy, brings a smile to my face and makes me feel sunshine in my heart!

My hubby is super supportive and enjoys seeing my creations but there is just something special about sharing what you have made with others whether they are admirers because they don't craft at all but like what they see or fellow crafters who understand what goes into creating something and the time and energy that you put into it.

Whatever it is that brings you by, thanks for stopping. I hope you enjoy what you see and please feel free to leave a comment I would love to hear from you!

Kim

Let's Dive In!

Hey there and welcome! I have been making cards and scrapbooking for several years now. Most of my cards are made for my family and friends and sometimes I make cards by request for others. I have realized that quite a few cards get added to my stash eagerly anticipating the day they will be called upon. I would like to share those cards with all of you here, a crafty journal if you will.

So let's dive in! You'll see cards, maybe some scrapbooking and anything else that should tickle my crafting fancy. Let's see what comes our way!

Wishing you sunshine and smiles,
Kim
